Cypress Grove Park Family Session / Orlando FL

Cypress Grove Park is one of my favorite locations in Orlando for photoshoots. It’s a versatile and beautiful park that is right in the heart of the city! There are wide open fields of grass, gorgeous tree lined sidewalks, and a dock that leads right out onto a lake. A perfect place for sunset photos. My favorite part is the huge cypress trees that create a canopy over the main road. As the sun starts to fall lower in the sky it shines beautifully through the branches. This creates gorgeous glowy light and the perfect backdrop for portraits. It was the perfect location for this fun fall extended family session.

I met up with everyone on a surprisingly chilly afternoon and we got started with group photos! I love the color palette of everyones outfits, they contrast well with the background without being flashy or distracting! When working with large groups, I find it works best when the group chooses a range of colors or a color palette and coordinates from there! It adds so much more personality to the images and everyone can be easily differentiated, as opposed to everyone matching perfectly. Once we got the big group photos, we started breaking off and shooting the smaller groups and individual families. The little girls were so adorable in their pink dresses!

As the sun started going down we headed to the back of the park and grabbed a few photos at the tree line on the lake. I always find it so exciting to capture portraits of extended families because it usually isn’t often that large groups like this can get together. It’s so important to capture the memories for the days to come! It truly was a beautiful evening for a Cypress Grove Park Family Session and I had the best time working with an amazing family!
