St. Augustine Catholic Church Wedding / Gainesville FL / Catherine & Devin
St. Augustine Church and Catholic Student Center is part of the University of Florida so it’s super cool to photograph a wedding on campus and explore the area! I’ve shot quite a few ceremonies at this church so it’s nice to walk into a familiar space with a solid plan for how I want to capture the day!
We started out by getting some shots of the groomsmen getting ready in the church library. Devin’s best man helped him into his jacket and made sure his suit was perfect before doing some group shots. I always have a great time working with the groomsmen because they are typically willing to just have fun with it. This group was no exception! Then we headed to girls at the student center. Catherine was just zipping up her dress and putting on her veil with some help from her mom. I love capturing small intimate moments like that because it’s the little details that somehow bring out so much emotion! Catherine then did a first look with her bridesmaids and it was such a sweet moment. Then we headed outside for portraits and Catherine was absolutely gorgeous!!
The ceremony was traditional and emotional and the flower girls were adorable! After the ceremony the bridal party headed across the street to campus for the group shots, and it was such a fun time. The bridal party was a great group and so energetic and excited for the newlyweds!
Catherine and Devin held their ceremony at the cutest bed and breakfast just down the street! The Sweetwater Branch Inn was classy and cozy and the perfect spot to celebrate. We tried to get some sunset portraits, but we got a rained out unfortunately. So instead, after the rain stopped, we utilized the string lights in the garden and got some of the most gorgeous portraits! They ended the night with an epic dance party and the cutest glow stick exit. It was such a wonderful wedding to capture and I’m so honored Catherine and Devin chose me to be their photographer 🙂
